Terms of Service

Last updated: June 25, 2026

Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Sparkle, including the macOS application, the open-source client, and any related services (together, the “Service”). By downloading or using Sparkle, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Your license to Sparkle

  • Compiled app: your $99 purchase grants you a perpetual, personal license to use the compiled Sparkle macOS app, including free updates during beta.
  • Open-source client: the Sparkle client source is licensed under the MIT License and governed by that license. You may fork, modify, and redistribute it accordingly.
  • You may not resell, sublicense, or misrepresent the compiled app as your own, and you may not remove or circumvent its license or security mechanisms.

AI credits & your own API key

  • Your $99 purchase includes $200 in AI enhancement credits. Credits power Sparkle’s coordination and intelligence layer and are consumed as you use those features.
  • Bring your own key (BYOK): your Claude Code sessions are billed by Anthropic directly under your own API key. Sparkle adds no markup to your Claude usage, and you are responsible for charges incurred on your key.
  • You are responsible for keeping your API keys and account credentials secure.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Sparkle to:

  • Break the law or infringe the rights of others.
  • Build or distribute malware, or attack, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems.
  • Reverse-engineer or tamper with the compiled app except as permitted by law or the open-source license.
  • Abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent the AI, cloud, or credit systems.

Your content

You own your content. You are responsible for the code, prompts, and data you create or process with Sparkle, and for having the rights to do so. As described in our Privacy Policy, your content stays private by default and is not used to improve the Service or train models unless you opt in.

Third-party services

Sparkle integrates third-party services (including Claude Code and the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services.

Refunds

If Sparkle doesn’t work for you, contact us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund of the $99 license. AI credits that have already been used are non-refundable.

Disclaimers

Sparkle runs AI agents that write and execute code. You are responsible for reviewing and approving what your agents do. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that agent output will be correct or fit for any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sparkle and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes & termination

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves; we will revise the date above when we do. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms. The open-source client remains available under its MIT License at github.com/try-sparkle/sparkle.
